Foreign oil dependency: Is Bush the worst President ever?
|
|
O.K. Whatever.
But we’re the worst Americans ever as well.
We complain about Iraq as we drive in our foreign oil dependency increasing gas-guzzlers. We blame others for the problems we help exacerbate.
No blood for oil?
Much foreign oil IS blood oil. We’re all consuming blood oil.
Bin Laden stated, “You steal our wealth and oil at paltry prices because of your international influence and military threats. This theft is indeed the biggest theft ever witnessed by mankind in the history of the world.”
Ironically, one of the biggest increases in U.S. foreign oil dependency occurred during the Clinton/Gore Administration. Additionally, greenhouse gas emissions went up a quarter during that same period.
That would make the Clinton / Gore years one of the worst environmental Presidencies ever. One of the worst blood for oil administrations.
Isn’t that an Inconvenient Truth?
Ultimately, both Democrats and Republicans have, for decades, been bought by oil - as have MOST Americans. Also, lest we forget, it was a Democrat that created our contract with Saudi Arabia, not a Republican.
Point a finger at Bush, America, but there are three fingers pointing back at YOU.
Inevitably, it’s not all Bush’s fault. It was also Bill’s fault. Jimmy’s fault. Ronald’s fault and on and on.
Most important, it was YOUR fault. MY fault. OUR fault.
We need to stop blaming Bush and start taking responsibility for our lives. Bush is a simple scapegoat. When it comes to oil and foreign oil dependency, most of us live in glass houses.
We, the people, need to declare war on foreign oil dependency now. We need to make better decisions as consumers. We need to make revolutionary changes
